What does the utilisation category AC1 and AC3 mean for the TeSys contactors?
Contactor utilisation categories define the current making and breaking values, based on the type of load to be controlled and the operating cycle conditions.
AC-1: This applies to all AC devices with a power factor of at least 0.95. Example of use: resistive load, heating, distribution.
AC-3: This applies to squirrel cage motors where breaking occurs while the motor is running. Example of use: all squirrel cage motors, lifts, escalators, conveyors, bucket elevators, compressors, pumps, mixers, air conditioning units.
What accessories are available?
Auxiliary contact blocks with serrated wiping action.
Front mount dust tight auxiliary contact blocks.
Pneumatic time delay blocks.
Transient voltage surge suppressors.
Interface modules and electronic timers.
Mechanical latching blocks.
Is the TeSys D range a double break pole type contactor?
Yes, the Tesys D range uses linear translation movement that provides double breaking of the poles.
Schneider Electric Contactor, 5W Heat Dissipation, 5mA Minimum Switching Current - LC1D Series - LC1D40AM7
Switch on to simplified motor control with this contactor from Schneider Electric. A magnetic field is generated when its coil is energised, which opens and closes its contacts rapidly to turn your motor on or off. You can expect an opening time of 4 to 10ms and a closing time between 12 and 26ms. The unit's three-pole construction makes it the right choice for three-phase motor circuits. With a capacity for up to 30kW of motor power, it's built for heavy-duty systems. DIN rail mounting means you don't have to dig deep into your toolbox when assembling this device, saving time and hassle.
Features & Benefits
• Loses just 5W of power to heat during operation, making it an energy-efficient solution
• Compact dimensions of 122 (H) x 51 (W) x 120mm (D) for space-efficient installation in busy setups
• Weighs just 850g, so it won't strain your setup
• Comes with a protective cover to prevent contact with live parts and ensure safe operation
Applications
• CNC equipment
• Industrial conveyors
• Lifts and escalators
How much surge voltage can this contactor withstand?
This unit handles up to 6kV of impulse voltage without breaking a sweat, making it fit for use in applications prone to power spikes.
